WHERE TO STAY: Sutton Place Hotel has Revelstoke’s only ski-in/ski-out accommodations. Eight minutes away is the more affordable Day’s Inn.
TOP NOTES: Revelstoke has the highest vertical in North America (1,713 metres). On a clear day, hike up to Sub Peak. The views of the Columbia River and surrounding peaks are worth every drop of sweat. Revie’s conical shape lets you ski down the Frontside or the North Bowl. More adventurous and super-fit experts can summit Mackenzie Peak and ski some of the steepest terrain anywhere.
MUST-SKI RUN: Stay above mid-station. Take the Stoke Chair, boot pack it up to Sub Peak and ski anything you can. When there’s lots of snow, North Bowl has the steeper, more challenging lines.
ALSO KNOWN FOR: Easy going, laidback, super friendly people and great little pubs where you and your gang can chill.
BEST APRÈS-SKI: Sitting outdoors at the Rockford Wok/Bar/Grill, soaking up the scene and the live music. Or sampling local microbrews at the Mackenzie Common Tavern.
BEST MEAL: Hot chilli mid-mountain at the Mackenzie Outpost. Breakfast at La Baguette.
NOT TO BE MISSED: First tracks.
BE SURE TO AVOID: The crowds skiing the easiest way down to the bottom. Take the gondola from mid-station instead.
